Ladybirds, also known as ladybugs in North America, are small, domed beetles belonging to the family Coccinellidae. There are over 6,000 species worldwide, ranging from 1 to 10 mm in length. Despite their dainty appearance, they are voracious predators, often referred to as a "gardener's best friend" because they eat thousands of plant-damaging pests like aphids and scale insects.
Damselflies are small, delicate, predatory insects in the order Odonata. Known for their slender bodies and fluttering flight, they are closely related to dragonflies but are distinguished by their separated eyes, equal-sized wings, and tendency to fold their wings back against their bodies when resting.
The Coreus bug (Coreus marginatus), commonly known as the Dock Bug or Brown Squash Bug, is a large, herbivorous true bug native to Europe, Asia, and North Africa. Highly common across southern Britain, it belongs to the squash bug family (Coreidae).
